RICHARDSON, Texas–SureSmile, an orthodontic system cthat ombines 3-D diagnostic imaging with computerized treatment planning and robotic archwire customization, has added a new capability to its upcoming software release, SureSmile6.0.
New features allow orthodontists to plan and visualize the final root positions in the supporting bone. Visualization of and planning with bone is just one of the more than 30 new customer requested features in SureSmile 6.0. The software is currently in beta testing and will is scheduled to launch at a SureSmile conference in March 2012 in Dallas, Texas.
“SureSmile 6.0 will be the first and only orthodontic system to incorporate the ability for the orthodontist to plan for the positions of roots in the supporting bone into their 3-D treatment plan,” said Rohit Sachdeva, chief clinical officer, OraMetrix, maker of SureSmile.
“Until now, orthodontists could only estimate how their treatment will affect root positions in the supporting bone. This new capability will revolutionize how orthodontists plan and treat patients.”
